Ministry is not confined to pulpits and sanctuaries but extends into villages, homes, and hearts.

From 27th to 30th August 2025, the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK) in partnership with Barnabas Aid carried out a food distribution exercise in Lamu County that touched the lives of hundreds of families. Hunger remains a real challenge in the region, and this mission was a timely reminder that the Church is called to meet both spiritual and practical needs.

The program began in Widho Village at Full Gospel Church Kiampeni where families gathered with hope and anticipation. One by one, households received essential food supplies. For many, these packages meant more than food on their tables. They were a visible sign of God’s provision and care. Smiles, tears of relief, and words of thanksgiving filled the atmosphere as parents testified that this support would sustain their children through uncertain days.

This initiative will eventually reach more than 600 vulnerable families across Lamu County. Beyond the numbers, it represents something deeper. It is the Gospel expressed through love in action. It is the Church living out its call to be salt and light, not only preaching the Word but also demonstrating it through acts of compassion.

As EAK celebrates 50 years of ministry since its formation in 1975, this outreach reaffirmed a central truth. Ministry is not confined to pulpits and sanctuaries but extends into villages, homes, and hearts. Through this partnership with Barnabas Aid, lives were not only fed but also uplifted with renewed dignity, faith, and hope.

The story of Widho Village is now part of a greater testimony that when the Body of Christ comes together in unity and service, communities are transformed and God’s Kingdom shines brightly.

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14)
