The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK) is committed to strengthening church networks, from the ward to national level, in an effort to promote peaceful coexistence before, during, and after the 2022 general elections. The calling to be peacemakers compels the Alliance to be proactive in identifying and responding to local and national triggers of anxiety and violence in an effort to manage the heightened tensions which are evident in the political arena.
This led EAK in partnership with REINVENT to organize a two-day retreat for key church leaders considered to be spiritual fathers and shepherds of the main political leaders. The aim was to empower and strategically position these eminent faith leaders to spearhead a proactive peace building and mediation process targeting all national political leaders. The proposed outcome of the retreat was to launch the Evangel Mediation Council of EAK comprising these faith leaders.
